Ever since the tenth generation Honda Civic arrived on dealership lots last November, they have been flying off our lot like hot cakes. With innovative technologies, class-leading performance and gas mileage, and a driving experience a cut above anything else in its class, it's no wonder this car is being snatched up so readily. Yet, like every super hero, the Civic also has its origin story.

The roots of the Civic go back to the 1960s, and a car known as the N600. Designed specifically by Honda for the American market, it arrived in America in 1969 just in time for the 1970 model year. Back then, the N600 was a two-door hatch with a 600c two-cylinder engine that reached a top speed of around 77 mph. Three years later, its shape and framework gave life to the Civic.

To learn more about the heart-and-mind-winning Civic, or other models like the CR-V, Accord, and Pilot, contact our Honda dealership in Ames, IA. We'd be more than happy to cover the model's features, trim options, and pricing at our showroom.
