Associates at the Honda Manufacturing of Indiana, LLC (HMIN) in Greensburg, IN, initiated production of the all-new 2017 Honda CR-V on February 15, 2017 -- the first SUV to be built at the facility since the plant started production in 2008. The plant now builds the two best-selling Honda vehicles of 2016 – CR-V and Civic.

Back in March of 2016, Honda announced that the company would create 100 new jobs and invest $52 million at the Indiana plant to facilitate the CR-V production startup, as part of the company's decision to invest in meeting escalating demand for its light-truck models. The vehicle's production moved from a plant in Mexico to the Indiana plant, which joins facilities in East Liberty, Ohio and Ontario, Canada in producing the CR-V.

In a release, Bob Nelson, president of Honda Manufacturing of Indiana, observed, "We are leveraging the manufacturing flexibility of our experienced Indiana associates to meet the needs of our customers. With the CR-V and Civic, we are really proud to build two of America's best-selling vehicles in Indiana."
