Since 2005, the North American market has been without a new Civic. For more than a decade, the European market has enjoyed an ever-evolving thing of beauty, while we have had to patiently wait for our turn. Well, it appears that our turn is not too far away. Recently, Honda issued a press release announcing that the Civic hatchback prototype, unveiled earlier this month in Geneva, will make its North American debut in New York at the end of the month.

While full details won't be available until the end of the month, the Geneva Auto Show gave us a great look at the prototypes aggressive styling. Low-slung and angular, the car looks fierce and ready for action. Sleek valleys slice down the sides towards the front wheels. The front is accented by jutting elements, a slightly overhanging hood, LED headlights, and large air intakes, giving it quite the intimidating aesthetic.

We don't know what's under the hood, but do know the model will be motivated by Honda Turbo engine technology, which means this is much more than a show car. Full details will be made available on March 22 at 2:20 p.m. EST on Honda's YouTube channel.
