At the beginning of every year we always turn our attention to Japan and the aftermarket tuner show that our brand shines in every year.   At Honda of Ames we understand that most of these models will never grace our showroom with their presence, but still, the sport and custom class that is showcased is very exciting.

The 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon is the premier stage for tuners to show off what they can do to production models.  This year's show is right around the corner, and Honda recently gave us a sneak peek at what they are going to bring.

The performance arm, Mugen, will get their skilled hands on numerous models this year, with the highlight being a few custom Vezel's.  The base for this custom created crossover is influenced by our Fit, and it is expected that an American version will be available down the road.

Beside the various Vezel's, Mugen will also put their special touch on the 2014 Honda Odyssey with the Absolute model.

Some new N-Series additions will also make an exciting appearance, and it was announced Honda will present to us the N-WGN Macaron Color Collection.

Racers will be brought alongside the Mugen models, with the CR-Z GT and SF13 being joined by four new vehicles that will enter the next season of N-One one-make racing.

All of the custom Honda models will surely be exciting to see revealed in Tokyo, so make sure you stay in the loop here on our blog as the show kicks off.

These custom models all have to start somewhere, and for most of them they begin as the production models that we have right here in our inventory of new Honda models.  Browse our current offerings, and if anything catches your eye take it for a test drive on the streets here in Ames, Iowa.
