Miyakojima City Japan is the stage for cutting edge tests on a new way to charge the future of micro-electronic vehicles from our brand.  Here at Honda of Ames we are excited to see how the experiment fares, because if it shows some successful results it could spell a bright and sunny future for zero emission models.

The new Honda MC-B is at the forefront of the test program, while Toshiba was responsible for developing the technology that is charging our micro-EV.

Honda's micro-electric-vehicle is a glimpse at the future of efficient city cars, and Toshiba is looking up to the sun to charge the ride.  Three charging stations have been built in Miyakojima City, and harness photovoltaic energy from the sun that is in turn stored and saved for when a MC-B parks at the station.

The "Micro Computer Beta" from Honda is powered by a small 8 horsepower engine, and only boasts a top speed of 43 miles per hour.  However, it emits zero CO2 and has a compact size perfect for navigating busy city streets.

The partnership of Honda and Toshiba is very exciting for the future of driving, and their goal together is to create the blueprint for a CO2 free world.  With vehicles like the MC-B and solar charging technology the future does indeed look bright for the possibility of zero emissions green driving.

At our dealership we currently have some very efficient and stylish rides here in the inventory of new Honda models.  Stop by our Ames, Iowa showroom today and check out a green ride like the 2014 Fit EV, we look forward to seeing you.
