When Honda partnered up with Forza Motorsport, a popular racing franchise, to launch the Forza Motorsport Civic Si Design Contest, we knew the outcome would be nothing short of ultimate automotive candy.
We could see this coming. The Forza Motorsport 5 game allows players to craft their own vehicles--from the paint, decals, window tints and a variety of finishes such as carbon fiber, gold, and camouflage. Gamers were challenged to create something so impressive in hopes that the brand would transfer the design onto an actual Honda Civic Si.
Finally, Honda and Forza Motorsport made the announcement at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show earlier this month. The winner was Tiffany Labedz who won over 17,000 votes from the Forza community among the other 170 entries.
The vehicle sports a hot red and pitch black design along with the Honda name and white details on the sides. It has a bold stance and it fits in with the Forza Motorsport and Honda attitudes.
"At Honda, we love meeting our customers where their passion lies, and the racing and custom car design in Forza Motorsport is definitely a passion for so many Honda and Civic enthusiasts," says Tom Peyton, the assistant vice president of advertising with American Honda Motor Co., Inc.1
"The passion and creativity of Forza Motorsport fans is a continuous source of inspiration to us," adds Alan Hartman, the studio manage for Turn 10 Studios, the Forza Motorsport series' maker.2
