An emoji doesn't seem like much...that is, until you realize it's the last thing that was sent and will ever be sent by the person who was texting while driving.
Distracted driving is no light topic. It's a common cause of sometimes fatal car collisions, and it's something that continues to occur day in and day out, 365 days a year.
How do we stop it? How do we let others know that five seconds really is enough time to turn your world and others upside down?
You spread the word. April is Distracted Driver Awareness Month. Let them know that drivers who text are twice as likely to get into an accident. Let them know that 660,000 people do this a day, and that means that risk on the road is pretty high.
Let them know that when the worst happens, life is never quite the same.
