We haven't seen a new wagon model from Honda since the 80s, but it appears that the Japanese automaker is revitalizing this family friendly design for some of its overseas markets. A new Civic Tourer concept debuted at last month's Frankfurt Motor Show, and it reminded everyone in attendance everything that's so great about wagons in general.
This new model was designed with European customers in mind, and boasts a sporty and robust aesthetic that is pretty different from the subtle curves of the new models that we have for sale here right now at Honda of Ames.
By design, wagons are incredibly spacious and provide the utility and comfort that many customers are looking for in a new model. Honda's new take on the classic design is sophisticated, and looks nothing like the boxy and unexciting wagons of the past.
When the rear seats are upright, this concept boasts 22 cubic feet of cargo space, and when you fold this down, this space more than doubles to hold 59 cubic feet of your stuff. We're sure it will arrive at European dealerships with different engine and transmission options, and we're quite interested to hear how it is received by drivers across the pond.
If it does well, we can certainly expect to see it at our Ames, IA showroom sometime in the future. In the meantime, we'd love to hear what you think about this new wagon. Leave a comment below, or contact a member of our team at your convenience.
