The folks at KickingTires (Cars.com's blog) recently held one of the most classic automobile battles in the last few years by pitting the 2013 Honda Civic against the 2013 Toyota Corolla. Though perhaps our readers might believe the match would be a close one, the auto enthusiasts at Cars.com named the new Civic the winner in eight out of nine categories, which include multimedia, seating, mileage, acceleration, ride, noise, handling, braking, and interior quality.

In the "mileage" category, for example, the Honda Civic achieves 28 mpg city/ 39 mpg highway/ 32 mpg combined, while the Toyota Corolla achieves 26 city/34 highway/29 combined. It's simply a no brainer!

In less obvious categories: "noise," for example, KickingTires also had nice things to say. Editor David Thomas states, "The Corolla had horrendous engine noise, and you could hear the difference in road noise when we hit the highway. The Civic used to be one of the louder cars in this segment, not anymore," while editor Joe Wiesenfelder adds, "Honda did a great job with the noise treatments for 2013."1

As far as interior quality is concerned, the editors called the Civic's "classier" than last year and "cutting edge" versus the Corolla. Wiesenfelder also compliments its bright gauges and displays, soft surfaces, and superior materials.

There's certainly a lot to love about the new 2013 Honda Civic. (No offense to the new Corolla!) For more information about this incredible model, stop by Ames Honda, located in Ames, IA, today for a test drive!
