See what
makes the Honda HR-V special
A big
selling point for the HR-V is that it's one of the most spacious subcompact
crossovers on the market. With all seats up you'll have just over 24 cubic feet
of space, and if you put the fold-flat back seats to use you'll have a whopping
58 cubic feet of space! For reference, you can fit 12 U-Haul size small boxes
if the seats are flat, which is super helpful if you or a friend need to move
apartments in Des Moines. Another feature on the HR-V that
makes it a hauling-worthy option is that both second-row seats have Honda Magic
Seat® engineering. Originally designed for the Honda Fit, the Magic Seat®
allows you to flip up the bottom cushion and bring home taller items.
Shopping
for a HR-V to drive around Marshalltown and beyond is
straightforward, as there are three trims to choose from. All have a 1.8L
engine and 144 horsepower. The base LX model comes as a 6-speed manual, but you
can get a CVT option which is what the EX and EX-L have.
If you're
watching your financing
amount the LX has useful tech amenities without getting too expensive. You'll
get a rearview camera, Bluetooth for calling or music streaming, and controls
on the steering wheel.
We suggest
the EX if you have a little more wiggle room in your budget. There's paddle
shifters for manual-like control, a smart-key with push button start, heated
front seats, and a 7-inch touchscreen. We also love the Honda LaneWatch® camera
on the right side so you can check what's in your blind spot. This is helpful
at highway speeds or keeping track of bikers in Ankeny or Mason City.
If you want
a little more cabin refinement then there's the EX-L. It has leather seats and
navigation with voice recognition.
